Inquiry Plan
Well, so far my inquiry is going well! My students love doing sign language in the classroom! They were very excited to start learning the signs and have learned how to implement them at appropriate times. At first, they were a little "sign happy" because it was something new and exciting, but it has really become part of our daily routine now. I love, love, love that it has cut down on interruptions during instruction! It is working even better than I thought! :)

Wow- this is wonderful. And yes there certainly is the newness factor to this inquiry but it sounds like it is off to a good start. I am eager to hear how it goes in a bout a week when the kids start getting used to it- that is the real test. But the honeymoon period is fun too. Do you have a spring break coming up- that might be interesting to see what the students retain after some time off.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that this is working well. Are you using actual sign language (ALS) or were the signs created by you or your students?
ReplyDeleteI am so glad to hear that sign language is working out for you. When I tried this with my students a few years back, it seemd as though only 3 or 4 signs stuck and were used consistantly. BUT, even thoses 4 signs made a huge difference with interruptions for me. Isn't great when they get excited about new things!?
